Where is everybody? Posted Monday, April 6, 2015 10:07 PM There were 253 students in our class, of whom at least 24 are deceased, which leaves 229 potential reunion attendees. The reunion committee has email addresses for 123 classmates and a survey from several months back showed about 60 expressing an interest in attending a reunion event. So, 46% of the class is unaccounted for and only 49% of those in touch planned to attend. The general wisdom is that the more folks who attend, the more fun it is. The challenges, therefore, are these: 1. get in contact with those unaccounted for classmates 2. create a collegial spirit that will result in a higher percentage of attendance among both the newly found and those who've already been in touch Let's use this forum to exchange ideas for searching out classmates...

Where is everybody? Posted Monday, April 6, 2015 10:40 PM I claim no special expertise, but will get the ball rolling... 1. General suggestions for searching are here: 2. About.com suggests starting with Zabasearch.com 3. Google. Knowing the full name or middle initial can narrow down the search for those who have common names. If you know anything about the person, adding that to the search line can also improve the hit rate. For example, if you know where someone went to college, or what state s/he lives in, add those attributes to the search line, one at a time. Other attributes might be sports activities, hobbies, children's names, place of employment. If you can't find the person, try to find and contact a sibling, who will probably remember you and share info. Probably not that many parents still around and able to help, but an obituary for a parent might give a clue about location of the surviving family. The next note contains the names on the graduating Class Roll, which includes middle names. Please try out some of these methods and let us all know what has worked for you, now and in the past! |

Where is everybody? Posted Friday, April 10, 2015 07:10 PM renshaw.jpg I tried sending an email to Brad Renshaw using the email address we have, but it bounced. Here is what I found by Googling him: That's him, the author bio proves it. Does anyone know how to contact him? How about the other three friends? |
